Museum

Rabat Zoo offers to its visitors the opportunity to explore the museum dedicated to the valorization of the paleontological heritage of Morocco and the history of animal population in the Moroccan territory, since the end of the Tertiary and all along the Quaternary eras (between 2,500,000 years ago and 7,000 years ago).
Through animal bones which once existed in Morocco, which are exhibited in the zoo museum in addition to the explanations provided, the main objective of this exhibition space is to raise awareness among the general public on the importance of Moroccan animal heritage and on the need for its safeguarding for future generations.
The young audience can also attend a screening of a scientific film.

Vivarium

The construction works at the Vivarium, a new space dedicated to African reptiles, will soon be over. Its opening is scheduled for the begining of 2019.
In a space of about 1700 m2, there are 6 distinct areas that will allow visitors to better understand the African reptiles’ lifestyle:

  • Subtropical area
  • Afro-alpine area
  • South Saharan area
  • Morocco area
  • Equatorial area
  • Malagasy area

A number of areas showcase the incredible wealth
of the African herpetological biodiversity.
145 animals representing about 40 species will be represented:

  • 14 snake species
  • 16 lizard species
  • 7 turtle species
  • 2 amphibian species
  • 1 crocodile species

Zoo shop

Rabat Zoo has made available to its visitors a zoo shop located in the host village.
Visitors can leave with a souvenir of their nature getaway either for themselves or as a gift for family or friends.

Conference rooms

For conferences, presentations, seminars, workshops, screenings or press conferences, Rabat Zoo offers a conference room with a capacity of 100 people.
